Where to Find the Best Deals on Hoka Shoes

Are you a runner? More specifically, a road runner? Hoka was built for that. Meaning ā€œto flyā€ in Maori, Hoka was founded in 2009 so that runners could get the ultimate experience with optimum cushioning and stability. Less than 15 years after its founding, Hoka is bringing in revenues topping a billion dollars a year, so itā€™s clear that people are loving this brand. But with quality comes high prices, and Hoka is no doubt in the high end price-wise. So weā€™ve rounded up the best stores to find the best deals for Hoka.

This Weekā€™s Thoughts. šŸ’

I have fallen off the wagon slightly recently.

Not in terms of mindset, discipline, or progress. But in the decisions, I am consciously making.

For example, I am still lucky to live at home with two amazing parents.

Lazy? Maybe.

Comfortable? Abso-fucking-loutely.

Anyway, last couple of weeks I have been taking sandwiches to lunch, instead of the usual something light, whole-food based, and higher in protein.

Why?

As I have made the decision that I value the thought of enjoying something made for me more than I care about being completely anal about my nutrition.

Last year I would have never thought of nailing four rounds of bread at lunchtime.

Now, I love my soup and sandwiches, as I know someone took time and effort to do something nice for me and make them.

If you're still reading this, youā€™re probably thinking, ā€œHugo, give overā€.

Fair, but my point is to try and enjoy the little things over torturing yourself with restrictions.

I still have my small, consistent, daily habits that will allow me to better myself over time.

Even if that does mean driving over a sandwich-shaped speedbump.

A little progress is still progress!!

Now, letā€™s dive into the amazing idea of imperfect action.

Quote of the Week šŸ’¬

ā€œ"Imperfect action is better than perfect inaction.ā€

šŸŒ± Progression > Perfection.

The idea behind an "imperfect action habit" is simple: instead of waiting for the perfect conditions, expertise, or flawless execution, you take small, messy steps forward.

Progress beats perfection every time, and action builds momentum in ways overthinking never can.

I used to struggle with this quite badly.

For studying, I would draw up the most complex study plans and then never actually do anything.

For fitness, I would plan all my runs and workouts for the week and end up just playing football and nothing else.

If youā€™re new to exercise or struggling to stay consistent, the imperfect action habit could look like:

  1. Short, Easy Workouts: Do 10 push-ups or a 5-minute walk when you canā€™t get to the gym. Itā€™s better than skipping the day entirely.

  2. Accepting Imperfection: Show up even when your form isnā€™t perfect or you feel self-conscious. Improvement comes through practice, not waiting until youā€™re ā€œready.ā€

Explicit planning is the same as procrastination, just leads to more anxiety and stress.

Whatever you're planning on starting, or trying, or training. Just do it.

Donā€™t wait till you're good at it, or till the new year.

Just give it a go, whatever happens, if it doesnā€™t kill you, who cares?

Why Imperfect Action Works.

Taking imperfect action removes the pressure of perfection and lowers the barrier to entry.

It builds momentum, confidence, and, most importantly, resilience.

Whether itā€™s fitness, writing, or starting a business, the act of showing up, no matter how imperfectly, is what leads to success.

You canā€™t steer a parked car. Start moving, even if the first turns are wobbly.
