Thanks for being here! 😄 🌱

This Week’s Thoughts. 💭
Long time no see, how are you?
I know that was a substantial break, but with Christmas, trying to figure out what I want to do next with my education/life, and working, my motivation completely disappeared.
However, that’s no excuse.
Hugo’s Habits is back for 2025.
In honesty, I was having self-doubts and anxiety about trying to build this newsletter, allowing my old procrastination habits to kick in.
Not writing, creating, and building the content for this newsletter allowed my wasteful and negative routine to resurface.
For anyone new here, Hugo’s Habits is a weekly newsletter where I share small tricks and insights that I learn to improve your life with minimal effort.
I present small habits you can build to improve your health, wealth, or happiness, without having to start eating off a chopping board and getting up at 5 am.
I sometimes wake up at 11 am, enjoy a pint with my mates, and watch YouTube for hours.
But I have small habits and frameworks in place that allow me to be the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been.
So, let’s try this building a community thing again.

🌃 A Simple Habit, Just Look Up.
The majority of readers will know that I am big into practicing gratitude, especially as a way to reduce stress as much as possible.
Ever since reading “When the Body Says No” by Gabor Mate, and learning about the actual biological effect of stress on your body, I have tried to build practices to reduce stress as much as possible.
As a naturally laid-back person, as well as being in the incredibly lucky position to have nothing too terrible in my life, I appreciate this is a lot easier for me to say.
But I do believe a small gratitude practice can make a big difference to anyone’s life.
This isn’t crossing your legs on the floor or journalling every morning.
A simple one I do is just look up (particularly at night.)
Every dot in the sky is a star bigger than Earth, and even the sun.
We’re on an insignificant floating rock and anything we think or feel about ourselves or anyone else makes very little difference.
Worried about what someone thinks of you, or have anxiety about the future?
Take a step outside, take a deep breath, and remember there was a 1 in 400 trillion chance you were even born.
Just try and enjoy it. ✌️
